Iran says it has increased the capacity of its largest oil terminal to as high as eight million barrels per day (bpd) – another indication that the country is preparing for bigger exports to global markets.
New studies have revealed that in-situ capacity of the joint oilfield, North Yaran, which is shared with Iraq, can be some 300 million barrels or about 30 percent above earlier estimates, according to the operator of the field's development project.
Iran's gas industry has the capacity to attract investment in projects worth over $40 billion based on BOO and BOT modes following the removal of sanctions, said managing director of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).
Managing Director of Pars Oil and Gas Company Ali Akbar Shabanpour said in the current year more than 120 million cubic meters has been added to the production of sour gas in South Pars, adding that the gas sweetening capacity of South Pars has increased by 140 million cubic meters as compared to the last year.
