Iranian professional basketball club Petrochimi Bandar Imam has started off its campaign at the 25th edition of Fédération Internationale de Basket-ball (FIBA) Asia Champions Cup with a convincing victory over Pauian Archiland of Chinese Taipei.
The reigning FIBA Asia champion Iran clinched its fifth title in the William Jones Cup after outclassing Russian club Spartak Primorye, 78-54 to move out of reach from its closest rival on Saturday at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Defending champion Iran was drawn into Group A of the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship. In a drawing ceremony held Changsha, China, Iran was in Group A along with Japan, Malaysia and a South Asian qualifier.
