Iran documentary '20th Circuit Suspects' has been selected to compete in the 2018 Golden Apricot International Film Fest in Armenia.

Directed by Hesam Eslami, the flick will compete with 12 other documentaries in the festival's competition section, reported.

The plot of the film revolves around a director, who has his car stolen, and then comes across Ehsan, the leader of an adolescent crime gang that breaks into cars regularly.

The director and the members of the group develop close relations which they maintain for six years.

The film provides a close look into Ehsan and the gang's life by documenting heists, wild chases, escaping from the police, imprisonment, release and, ultimately, the gang breaking up.

'20th Circuit Suspects' received a Crystal Simorgh at the 35th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

It has also taken home the Best Film award from the Ethnocineca International Documentary Film Festival in Vienna, Austria.

Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival was established in 2004 in the capital of the Republic of Armenia, Yerevan.

The 15th edition of the festival which is slated for July 8-15 enjoys Iran two-time Oscar-winner director Asghar Farhadi as jury.
