Organized jointly by Iran's Cultural Center in Algeria and Algerian Alam Art and Cultural Center, the exhibition will continue for one month enabling Algerian citizens to become familiar with different aspects of Iranian culture and civilization and art during this period.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Iran's Cultural Attaché in Algeria Amir Mousavi said the two countries enjoy historical ties in the cultural arena, IRNA wrote.
Pointing to a visit by former Iranian culture minister Reza Salehi-Amiri to Algeria, he said the two countries have agreed to implement several cultural and artistic programs.
Screening some Iranian films and documentaries, holding calligraphy workshops, performing Iranian music, introducing Iranian food and confectionery, introducing Iranian science, tourism and historical attractions and displaying films in that context are among the programs of the exhibition.
"One of the joint projects planned earlier is the production of an important historical film by Iranian filmmakers in Algeria in cooperation with Algerian artists. The project is in its initial stages and the selection of the actors has been completed," he added.
