The head of Iran-Georgia parliamentary friendship group said on Saturday that benefiting from the economic potentials of the regional states requires peace and security.
Shalva Kiknavelidze made the remarks in a meeting with Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi in Tehran, IRNA reported.
Kiknavelidze stressed on expansion of cooperation on tourism and transportation.
The Georgian official also emphasized on paving the way for the presence of the private sector as well as the implementation of joint economic projects earlier signed between the two countries.
He also highlighted the formation of the Iran-Georgia parliamentary friendship group, saying that it indicates that officials in Tehran and Tbilisi are interested in the expansion of ties.
Boroujerdi expressed satisfaction on improving relations between the two countries, saying that Iran’s Parliament supports any measure aimed at strengthening ties between Iran and Georgia.
