European Parliament considers JCPOA 'helpful document': MEP

Chairman of the European Parliament's (EP) Foreign Affairs Committee David McAllister said here on Wednesday that the European bodies consider the landmark Iran nuclear deal a 'helpful document' for fostering global peace and tranquility.

In a meeting with the Head of Iran Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Aladdin Boroujerdi, McAllister voiced the EP and the European Union's (EU) all-out support to the 2015 deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), IRNA reported.

He added that the Eurpean Parliament welcomes removal of all sanctions imposed on Iran as stipulated by the JCPOA.

The MEP said his visit to Tehran is aimed at reviewing the latest regional developments and issues of mutual interest.
