Iran nuclear deal to benefit all parties: French official

Fulfillment of Iran nuclear deal commitments by the signatories to the agreement is going to benefit all the parties, former French foreign minister said.

Implementation of Iran nuclear deal has given a strategic moment, Ubert Vedrine said Monday in a meeting on Iran-France relations held in Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, IRNA reported.

Vedrine expressed satisfaction over the conditions created following the nuclear deal between Tehran and the Major world powers, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

New chapter has been opened in Iran's foreign relations, he said.

At the time of negotiations, some in Iran were against the deal, he said.

But the main problem here is not caused by domestic opponents of the deal, he added.

The main problem is the United States, the former French foreign minister said.

Many strong circles tried to disrupt the nuclear talks and its implementation at any price, Vedrine said.

Today US President Donald Trump is also against the JCPOA, and he remains to be unpredictable, he added.

Iran will benefit from implementation of the nuclear agreement and the country has stayed committed to it, Vedrine said.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has repeatedly announced that Iran is committed to the nuclear deal, he said.

The French official also described as significant Iran's approach toward regional issues, Tehran relations with Arab countries and Iran's stance toward Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Turkey as well as Russia.
