Iran eager to develop economic ties with Oman

Iran and Oman should take advantage of their potentials to broaden economic cooperation, said Iran's ambassador in Muscat.

Mohammadreza Nouri Shahroudi, who was speaking to a 30-member Iranian economic delegation in Muscat, advised Iranian companies to export quality products to Oman adding that the Iranian embassy will spare no efforts to support them, reported IRNA.

In relevant remarks in early March, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi announced that Iran is seriously pursuing the strengthening of ties with Oman.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is serious about establishing stronger ties with Oman and the necessary political will is there to further expand and develop relations with Oman," Sarmadi said in a meeting with Secretary General of Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi in Tehran.

Albusaidi underlined the good relations between the two countries, and said, "Iran-Oman ties are a role model in the region and Oman is seriously willing and attempting to develop and deepen ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran."

ِuring the meeting, the two sides also conferred on avenues to further strengthen ties in all fields, specially in economic and banking areas.
