Director General (DG) of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said this while speaking at a seminar titled 'Role of Youth in Rejecting Extremism', in Rawalpindi, IRNA reported.
'It is our collective duty as ‘state’ and individual duty in our respective domain to shield our youth against this threat,' he said, adding that the process of protecting the youth would involve the 'identification of threat and response measures'.
He paid tribute to young soldiers who had sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism.
Recently Pakistani army has openly started admitting that Daesh is a serious threat to Pakistan. Earlier DG ISPR had said that Pakistan has a zero tolerance for Daesh and even Daesh's shadow will not be allowed in Pakistan.
Before this the presence of Daesh was not formally admitted in Pakistan.
