Official: German firms' presence in Iran to improve both economies

The presence of German companies in Iran is aimed at improving the two countries' foreign economies and boosting trade ties, said Germany's deputy minister for economic affairs and energy.

According to IRNA, Anne Jacobs-Schleithoff said at a meeting of German investors in Tehran, "Iran's government seeks to promote its economic status and renovation of its ports and commercial fleets, so the country is abundant with special opportunities for German companies."

She pointed to gas and oil infrastructure and transportation as the two Iranian sectors which require renovation and hoped that the trade mission of the German delegation in Iran would usher in mutual cooperation in port and shipbuilding industry and it would be accomplished successfully.
