Deputy Head of Cultural-Artistic Organization of Tehran Municipality (TM) announced that Iranian and East Asian artists are to collaborate on a series of visual arts, music and performance programs in the near future.
Majid Sarsangi made the above statement at the inaugural ceremony of an exhibition of calligraphy works by Iranian and Japanese artists entitled ’The Pen’s Orient’ which opened at Imam Ali (AS) Museum of Religious Arts on Thursday (May 1), reported MNA.
The event was attended by Japanese Ambassador to Tehran Akio Shirota as well as several prominent Iranian and Japanese calligraphers, including Gholamhossein Amirkhani and Horie Kyoko.
Pointing to Iran-JaQpan cultural affinities, Sarsangi said, “The exhibit would help introduce Persian and Japanese calligraphy to the world and also enhance our understanding of the Japanese art of calligraphy.“
